Embryonic stem cell on the end of a needle
Coolest thing about embryonic stem cells: they’re pluripotent, aka they can turn into ANY cell type! They’re like the Dittos of the cellular world. They’re extremely useful in science because when the proper hormone treatments are used, they can create replacement cells for patients in need of them. Current research involves trying to turn skin cells from a patient into stem cells, then into the cells in need by that patient!
